Bermuda will once again be featured at a Boston Red Sox game.

On Monday the Department of Tourism is hosting a Bermuda themed night at Fenway Park while the Boston team plays against the Seattle Mariners.

Premier Ewart Brown will attend the event, which he has hailed as a "vital" marketing tool for the Island.

"The Boston region is an incredibly important one for the Island," he said. "This is the second year that we've hosted the Bermuda Night promotion and the second one this year.

"We have successfully showcased Bermuda to thousands, and we are thrilled at how warmly the Island has been received by the audiences at these events."

Also on hand will be Bermuda's Gombey Dance Troupe which will preform as fans enter the stadium. The US national anthem will be performed by Bermudian singer Sheila Smith.

Following the anthem, Jon Crellin, Fairmont Hamilton Princess general manager and President of the Bermuda Hotel Association will do the honour of throwing the first pitch.

Tourism Director William Griffith added: "For the last Bermuda Night of the summer, we've planned an all-access pass for Bostonians to truly experience the spirit of Bermuda right in their hometown.

"New England is a key market for Bermuda with non-stop service via legacy carrier Delta Air Lines and affordable carrier JetBlue Airways.

"We're excited to complete this promotion with a full day of Bermuda festivities and have already commenced planning for next year's series of events for the New England market."

Bermuda festivities will kick-off on Sunday when Bermuda flags will be flown from the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel, the hotel itself will also be lit up pink.

On Monday, Island partners will showcase their products at Copley Square and members of the public will have a chance to sign-up to win one of three Bermuda vacations.

Additionally, servers will provide samples of authentic Bermudian rum cake and the Gombeys will perform for the lunchtime business crowd.

Bermudians can watch the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners game featuring the Gombeys and Sheila Smith on NESN, which can be found on CableVision channel 142 and WOW channel 221.
