Church celebrates 30 years

Pastor Damon Hendrickson

The Midland Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hamilton Parish will celebrate 30 years of service to the Crawl community later this month with a special service and lunch.

"Everyone is welcome," Pastor Damon Hendrickson said in a statement.

The special service begins at 7 p.m. on November 14, with a feast celebration and slide show presentation of the history of the church.

On November 15, the congregation will honour some of the founding members with special presentations and a plaque.

The statement said Pastor Hendrickson will lead the worship service at 11 a.m., which will include special music by various groups and soloists. A fellowship lunch follows the service.

"For over 30 years, the Midland Seventh-day Adventist Church has had an impact in the Crawl community, providing spiritual and tangible support to its members," the church said.

"The church had its first official service on Sabbath, November 6, 1965 and was dedicated with 140 members on October, 1978."

The church now has a membership of 293.

"At the Heights, we believe everybody is somebody and treat our members and guest as such. We take pride in preaching the full gospel, the Word, and nothing but the Word, so help me God," Pastor Hendrickson said.
