Man hurt in assault
A man received facial injuries in an assault at a Front Street night spot early on Saturday morning, but he refused to cooperate with Police called to the scene.
Police attending the reported assault at the Front Street establishment at around 1.30 a.m. spoke with the victim, a 21-year-old Hamilton Parish man who suffered facial injuries in the assault.
However, he refused to cooperate with Police, refused medical attention and refused to make a formal complaint.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Pembroke man, had already fled the scene prior to Police arrival. However, he later returned to the Front Street area and was arrested after a struggle with officers.
During the struggle, Police Captor CS spray was used. A few other scuffles then took place, resulting in the arrest of the victim in the initial assault, as well as several other individuals.
