The Department of Child and Family Services said there was an urgent need for foster parents to care for children with medical and behavioural problems.

The foster parents will care for mostly adolescent age, for both the long and short term.

MAN HURT IN FIGHT CRM Man hurt in fight A 43-year-old Devonshire man received bruises, abrasions, swelling and a one-inch cut below his left eye after being struck in the face with a beer bottle.

The victim told Police just after 3 a.m. on Saturday that he had been in a dispute with an employee on board a cruise boat a few hours earlier which ended with the complainant claiming he was hit three times in the face.

A 27-year-old Warwick man was assisting Police.

MOTORCYCLE RIDER HURT AC Motorcycle rider hurt A 26-year-old Devonshire woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Friday night with broken teeth and a suspected broken leg after colliding with a taxi.

The driver attempted to avoid a large water puddle but collided with a westbound taxi at about 7.30 p.m. on Harrington Sound Road, a few metres west of Knapton Hill.

JEWELLERY STOLEN CRM Jewellery stolen Police are investigating the theft of jewellery from a Panorama Drive, Hamilton Parish home. The owners discovered the items missing on Friday.

And the proprietor of Vision Video in Sandys Parish reported a Friday night theft of a money bag and cheques from his establishment. The items were stolen between 6 and 9 p.m.

BURGLARS TAKE COINS CRM Burglars take coins Police were called to a Sun Valley, Warwick, home to investigate the theft of a quantity of coins between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Saturday Police did not disclose whether the coins were antique or foreign.

Police were also called to Poinciana Road, Devonshire, after the owner discovered someone had searched the premises.

The complainant told Police he had left the home secured shortly before midnight on Saturday and returned at 4.30 a.m. yesterday.

WOMAN ARRESTED CRM Woman arrested A 41-year-old St. George's woman has been arrested in connection with a theft from an elderly St. David's man.

The complainant told Police he was sleeping in the early hours of Friday morning when he was awakened at 1.15 a.m. by the female, who asked him for money.

When she was told he had none, the suspect searched his dresser drawers and pocketed $5.

As the complainant attempted to call Police she took the phone from him and began to bully him into writing out a cheque, in the name of a supermarket; the victim complied and the woman left.

The woman was subsequently arrested when she attempted to cash the cheque at the store.
