Mutual funds seminar

keynote address at the fifth annual Bermuda Mutual Funds Seminar, to be held at the Southampton Princess from May 2-4.

Over 350 mutual fund specialists and lawyers from 21 countries have registered to meet in the new Mid Ocean Room. Include will be delegates from Australia, India, Japan, Hong Kong and Chile.

Co-ordinator Mr. Peter Rodger, Senior Vice President and Group Legal Advisor for the Bank of N.T. Butterfield, called the event a "total sell-out.'' The International Bar Association's Mutual Funds Committee, of which Mr.

Rodger is vice-chairman, co-sponsors the event along with the US Investment Company Institute.

Topics to be covered include concurrent offerings in multiple jurisdictions, master/feeder funds, global fund custodial services, and cross-border advisory services.

Mr. Rodger said: "Mutual fund law is a highly specialised business, and we are not seeking to be a large trade show. By keeping the number manageable, we are maximising the opportunities for individual networking by attendees from all over the world.''
