Government should employ a full-time risk assessment manager to look after its insurance needs, Mr. Dennis recommends.
Government has assets valued at $2 billion and annual premiums of $5 million.
“Government's insurance and risk management affairs warrant the attention of an independent qualified insurance and risk management officer who could be responsible for developing and implementing approved insurance and risk management strategies, with accountability to the Financial Secretary,” he wrote. The Accountant General's Department said a full-time officer would be too expensive.
