The threat hanging over the future of the Matilda Smith Williams home appears to have been lifted.

In January it was reported that the Devonshire seniors home, which is one of Bermuda?s oldest, could be forced to shut its doors because of a lack of cash. Government had been approached about running the operation. Board chairwoman Thelma Trott said last week: ?It is not going to close. It wasn?t going to close in the first place.?
