Rider hurt as bike, car collide outside Bull's Head car park
All three emergency services attended a collision outside Bull's Head car park in Hamilton in the rain yesterday afternoon.
A young male motorcyclist was injured when his Honda CH125 came into collision with a Subaru J10.
According to eyewitness Rosemarie Madeiros, the car was coming "not very quickly" from the direction of Canal Road towards Dundonald Street through a section where it had no right of way.
Mrs. Madeiros, from Paget, said the bike was travelling quickly and hit the car, with the rider left injured in the road as a result.
"He tried to get up but people told him to stay down," she explained.
A fire truck, ambulance and Police officers were summoned to the scene and the young man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
He was conscious, but suffering from what one firefighter described as facial injuries.
The motorcycle was badly damaged and the car suffered front-end damage on the driver's side.
