A large party was underway at the club and when a fight broke out, the man injured tried to intervene to prevent an altercation.

During the scuffle, he was wounded in his left eye. The injured man had to be taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was expected to undergo surgery for the half-inch puncture wound.
