And the department has stressed that permit holders must meet with a traffic officer to verify they still needed the vehicle.

"Vehicles in this category will not be licensed for 1996 unless the permit review has taken place and vehicles have been approved for relicensing,'' a TCD spokesman said.

The review of work permits will continue until the end of the year. Permit holders are asked to arrange a meeting anytime, preferably when the vehicle is brought in for examination.

Permit holders must also take along the receipt for the current hospital levy and employment tax return.

TCD also reminded permit holders that vehicles may be examined and relicensed four months prior to the expiration date.

YOUTHS ARRESTED CRM Youths arrested Two youths were arrested after a chase along the Railway Trail in Somerset, Police reported.

Officers attempted to stop what they believed was a stolen cycle near Hog Bay Level shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, Police said in a news release.

The rider refused to stop and after a short chase lost control near the junction with Store Lane. Both the rider and passenger fled on foot, but were pursued and captured by Police.

The rider is expected to appear in court charged with a number of traffic offences, including riding while under age.

Also on Saturday, a 15-year-old St. George's boy was arrested for riding while under age after he was stopped on Kindley Field Road.

Officers were conducting routine checks at about 10.30 p.m. when an auxiliary cycle approached and made a U-turn in front of the check point.

Police pursued the cycle and discovered that the rider was only 15. He was taken to St. George's Police Station and later released on bail.

POLICEWOMAN HIT BY BOTTLE CRM Policewoman hit by bottle A Policewoman was struck on the arm by a bottle following a domestic dispute over the weekend.

The incident occurred around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday at a St. David's residence.

A man allegedly threw a concrete block through a woman's car window following an argument.

As Police arrived to investigate, bottles were thrown. One of them struck a Police woman on the arm.

Police also arrested a 29-year-old Warwick man during the early hours of yesterday morning for wilful damage.

The allegedly smashed the front and rear windows of a car following an argument with the owner on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish shortly after 5.30 a.m.

The Warwick man is expected to appear in Magistrates' Court.

BREAK-IN PROBED CRM Break-in probed Police are investigating a break-in at a Hamilton nightclub.

Someone or persons forced entry into Oscar's nightclub on Victoria Street, broke open several cash registers which were empty, and unsuccessfully tried to get into a safe.

LIQUOR STOLEN CTS Liquor stolen A 57-year-old Pembroke woman was caught red-handed stealing liquor from Dismont Robinson liquor store.

Magdalene A. Paul, of Curving Avenue, pleaded guilty to unlawfully receiving two bottles of liquor and receiving two bottles of soda which were known to be stolen.

Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that on July 10, due to suspicions that employees were stealing from the store, manager of Dismont Robinson Ms Sonya Dismont installed a surveillance camera in the building.

"On tape Ms Dismont saw an employee hand Paul the liquor and soda, which she placed in a bag, and leave the store without paying,'' Sgt. Grant said. Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined Paul $120 for receiving three bottles of liquor and $120 for the two bottles of soda.
