Legal arguments yesterday held up the start of the trial of James Arnett Llewellyn Peniston, 53, of Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke, who faces charges of perjury, fraud and stealing.

On Monday progress in the case was delayed after a juror had to stand aside, following the man's declaration that he did not believe in the Bermuda justice system.

Yesterday the man was replaced by another juror and the day was spent in legal arguments.

Mr. Peniston is represented by Julian Hall. Crown Counsel is Peter Eccles and the case is being heard before Puisne Judge Vincent Meerabux.
