Minors under fire for early exit

Health Minister Patrice Minors came under fire yesterday for failing to stay at a meeting held to give Bermuda?s physically disabled a voice.

The Minister attended the meeting at the Anglican Cathedral Hall yesterday to open it, however then informed those attending that she had another meeting to attend to and left before any of the audience members spoke.

?I am peeved that the Minister had the nerve to open the meeting and thought somewhere else was more important,? head of the Bermuda Heart and Stroke Foundation Mark Selley said yesterday. Instead, attendees were left with ?puppets in the civil service? who are already too aware of the problems, but lack the power to create legislation which could help solve the problems.

?Where the hell is the representation here?? Mr. Selley asked. ?If Michael Dunkley could be there, Cabinet Ministers should be there. I am disappointed and almost disgusted that she decided to leave ... If the Social Agenda was as important as it?s made out to be, she would have stayed.? was unable to contact Mrs. Minors last night.
