Principal for a Day

I would exclude gum and junk food in the school because they will stick it on the chairs. If the children be rude, I would make this rule. If anybody does it again I will strap the children so they will not do that again because I will be mean to the children. I will grow up to be a principal like Mrs.

Thompson.

TAKAI TOTA Primary 3, Elliott MY CAREER My Career Hi!! My name is Jessica, and I'm here to talk about what I'd like to be when I grow up. When I'm older, I'd like to be a pediatrician. A pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in children.

The main reason I would like to become one, I could help save people's lives.

Then, maybe not so many children would die! Antoher reason I would like to help children, is that I just plain like them, and hate to see them suffer. I would feel a lot better knowing I saved a child's life.

I will now leave you with a choice. Help children near and far away or watch them suffer, and maybe even die.

JESSICA N. FIGUEIREDO, 11 Year 7, Port Royal Primary WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT When the Lights Went Out One day when the lights went out in my house I went outside to play. I played hide and seek with Jerome and E.J. One time it took E.J. 15 minutes to find us. I got caught. I caught E.J. quick. Then we played football. We had a tournament. I won. I beat Jerome 3-1, E.J. 3-0. Jerome beat E.J. 3-2. I beat Jerome in the final 3-2. Then we played cricket. I came second with 57 runs.

Jerome got 63 and E.J. got 49. We had five innings each. Then the lights came back on and we had lunch.

DOMINIQUE ANDERSON, 7 Elliott Primary THE BIG RED UMBRELLA The Big Red Umbrella The big umbrella, so bright and red, protects me from the rain. All pleated and folded so neatly spreads out so full above me. It travels all over when the sky is cloudy. It has a nice brown wooden handle for an easy grip and helps when the winds are strong. The handle had my initials on it.

One day when I was in Hamilton, it was raining very hard and wind was strong.

The wind was blowing and I was holding on with all my might. It was a battle that the wind won. All of a sudden I was getting wet and the umbrella was turned inside out. Up it went. It was so high up in the sky it disappeared out of sight. I was very sad because I thought I would never see it again.

One day when I was walking near the park, I saw something in the bushes. I went to look and to my surprise it was my big, red umbrella. It was my big red umbrella because the handle had the initials N.L.P. on it. Also on it was lots of different kinds of stamps. It had travelled all over the world. I was sure happy to have my big, red umbrella back.

I treasure my umbrella as it was a gift from a very special aunty of mine.

NEIL PHILLIPS Primary 4, Southampton Glebe I SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus As I tip-toed down the stairs I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus. I think she was kissing him because he was daddy. He was wearing a red suit with black boots.

He was a black Santa Claus with a red nose, big fat jolly belly and a fat face.

Santa had a bag of toys over his shoulder. It was a heavy bag. It was full of toys for an orphanage. There were dolls, Power Rangers and a Teddy Ruxpin. As I turned to go upstairs I thought all that I has seen was very funny.

Much later that evening daddy came home. He came to my room to give me a big Santa kiss. I thought about telling daddy what I had seen but decided that all that I had seen tonight was all just a big, funny, dream! DIONNE GREEN Primary 4, Southampton Glebe
