A man was stabbed and another had a bottle smashed into his head in two separate incidents, a Police spokesman said, adding that both men were drunk, had bloody injuries and were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH).

The incidents fly in the face of the peace and understanding among mankind message of the reggae superstar.

The stabbing victim, a 24 year-old St. George's man told officers he did not know who attacked him and did not want to pursue any further action.

Police arrived to see the man crouched over a wall with his clothes soaked in blood. He told Police that he was celebrating in a large crowd when he felt something dripping on his leg.

It was only then he noticed he had been stabbed in the buttocks. He also had a gash on his chin and could not explain how he sustained it. He was taken to hospital, treated and released.

In the second disturbance Police had to deal with a 37-year-old man who they said was in an agitated and intoxicated state. The man claims to have had his head smashed by a 20-year-old man.

According to Police, the victim was driving past the Club when he suddenly stopped hopped out of his car confronted the 20-year-old and pushed him.

The younger man grabbed a bottle and cracked it over the victim's head.

Once his bloody head injuries were treated and bandaged by emergency medical technicians from the Clearwater Fire Brigade, the victim refused to go to KEMH.

Police said a friend convinced him to go to the hospital via ambulance but that en route he jumped out of the moving vehicle. He was not further injured by his action and was placed back into the ambulance and taken to KEMH.

Police said an active investigation is ongoing.
