with share increases in Bermuda's two largest banks pushing the Exchange Index to an all time high of 1,130.54 -- up 37.09 on the day.

Leading the way was the Bank of Bermuda, whose shares went up by $1.50 each to close at $22 on a volume of 14,602. The total amount of trading in the Bank's stock came to $321,244.

There was $297,550 worth of trading in Bank of Butterfield shares, which went up by 50 cents to $27.50 on a volume of 10,882.

In the day's other two trades, 1,550 shares in Long Botham Boats, which owns the Henry VIII pub/restaurant, traded unchanged at $3.75, and 987 Belco shares traded at $20.50, also unchanged in value.
