The offshore centre is described as "keen to catch up with other jurisdictions, such as Bermuda, which has its law up and running''. Jersey has set aside 10 million ($16 million) to establish itself as a base for business-to-business e-commerce and legislation is to be fast-tracked, "allowing the e-business law to jump the drafting queue in the effort to keep up,'' Portfolio International magazine reported.
