Bermuda's legislators will likely debate an Opposition motion to form a bipartisan committee to study the pros and cons of associate membership in CARICOM, the Caribbean Community and Common Market today.

Government, which is pro CARICOM, has already set up a Cabinet committee to look into the matter.

Also on the order sheet for today's Parliamentary business are three financial bills - one a supplementary estimate and another which expands the powers of the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Finance Minister Eugene Cox will also be pushing through The Insurance Amendment (No 2) Act 2001.

And Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown is set to introduce regulations which would impose an aviation security tax on airlines serving Bermuda.

A revamped Historic Wrecks Act, which was tabled and withdrawn from the House during the summer, could however take up a significant chunk of Parliamentary time.
