Detectives are appealing for information about the movements of a man wearing a ski mask and red top or jacket who is believed to have fired the point blank shot that took the life of Shaundae Jones in Dockyard last weekend.

And Police have bailed the three men being held in Police custody in connection with the murder.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said officers wanted to thank those people who had already assisted with the investigation so far, but said it was important for other witnesses to come forward, no matter how small or insignificant they thought their information was.

"We are particularly interested in the movements of a man described as a tall, thin-framed black male, wearing a face mask and a red top or jacket prior to him walking up to a silver MG," said Mr. Caines.

He said the man is thought to have been responsible for firing a single shot at Mr. Jones, who was sitting in the car as he and his friends were leaving Dockyard at about 3 a.m. following a night at Club Malabar.

Immediately after the shooting, Mr. Jones' friends left the area in the car and took him to Port Royal Fire Station in Southampton, where they were met by an ambulance.

Mr. Jones, 20, a Bermuda College student from Smith's Avenue, Warwick, died from the shot to the chest before reaching King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Caines said it was believed the man in the red jacket or top approached the car as it was parked to the right of the club, fired the shot and then ran off down the back road behind the Clock Tower building, leading to the old Casemates prison.

He added: "This man was obviously inside the nightclub, so we want to find out whether anyone inside saw someone fitting this description and noticed anything in particular about his movements, behaviour or activities.

"And we are looking to speak to anyone who may have noticed his activities once the shooting had taken place.

"All indications are that he left on foot in the direction of the prison.

"Witnesses are crucial to this case. It doesn't matter how small or insignificant they think their information is, we want to hear from them."

Mr. Jones' funeral will be at 4 p.m. on Monday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Southampton. His burial will follow at St. Mary's Church, Warwick.
