Police last night released details of road closures to allow the funeral procession of late Tourism Minister David Allen to take place tomorrow.

An official funeral will take place for Mr. Allen at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street at 11 a.m. after a procession through the streets of Pembroke, accompanied by the Bermuda Regiment Band.

Premier Jennifer Smith and other Cabinet Ministers will assemble at the Progressive Labour Party's headquarters at Alaska Hall on Court Street.

They will then join the procession south along Court Street, turning west onto Church Street, pausing at the Department of Tourism at Global House and then slow marching from there to the cathedral.

Afterwards, the funeral procession will leave the cathedral and travel east, back along Church Street, then on to King Street, Reid Street, Spurling Hill, Crow Lane, Trimingham Road, South Road and Middle Road, before heading west to St. James' Church in Somerset.

Traffic on those roads will be stopped to enable the procession to move by unhampered.

However, Union Street in Pembroke will be closed to all traffic between 9.30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to enable the Bermuda Regiment Band to assemble. When the band heads off towards Alaska Hall, the road will be re-opened.

Mr. Allen died last Thursday afternoon at the age of 59 after a short battle with abdominal cancer.
