Breaking News: Hundreds pay tribute to Shaki Crockwell

Friends and family of murder victim Shaki Crockwell today paid their final respects at his funeral.

Hundreds of people, including a large proportion of Bermuda’s football community, crammed into the Seventh Day Adventist Church, King Street, Hamilton, for an emotional service.

They heard a series of rousing eulogies to former national team footballer Mr. Crockwell, numerous messages of support for his devastated family, and calls for his grieving friends not to seek revenge.

The 25-year-old’s body was found in a pool of blood at the Railway Trail, Devonshire, on the evening of Friday, August 24. He had been shot in the neck.

Following the church service today, his family headed to the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery in St. George’s, for an internment.
