US should fix thisDecember 17, 2011Dear Sir,Every right thinking person should be up in arms over the callousness of the United States Government.When there was an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, BP was pilloried for the mess and continues to pay out billions of dollars in restitution. Take $50 million from this payment to clear our mess. However, when the shoe is on the other foot, the authorities in the US do not want to hear about our problems.The Armed Forces of the United States created the mess and they should be forced to clean it up. I believe the UK forces which created a mess in Dockyard did clean up before they left. Let the United States not only pay the bill but do the work and take their mess, dumping it in their own country.I would suggest that the US Consul General be told in no uncertain terms that her Government get moving on this matter as soon as possible.
