Drug importers line-up at Supreme Court
Several drug importers appeared in yesterday's Supreme Court arraignments.
Jamaican Audley Patrick Lawe will appear for sentencing on October 22 after pleading guilty to importing heroin with a street value of $388,000. He had been arrested at the airport after arriving from New York on April 6.
Comal Shauvan Spence will appear at next month's arraignments to get a sentencing date after a social inquiry report.
Spence, 23, of High Point Road, Devonshire, had pleaded guilty to handling cocaine worth $427,625.
He was caught with six bottles of liquid cocaine in a trap set by narcotics officers at the Grotto Bay Hotel in February.
Spence had been sent to pick up the cocaine by his auntie Judy Louise Spence who had been given a 13-year sentence earlier in the year.
Wilfred Arthur Mathews, 50, of Shinbone Alley, St. George's, will appear for sentencing on November 12 after pleading guilty to importing heroin. A social inquiry report has been ordered.
Calvin Richardson, 31, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody until November 1 after pleading not guilty to robbing Donna Simmons of $500.
