Anti-racism ceremony today

The Commission for Unity and Racial Equality (CURE) and the Human Rights Commission are jointly sponsoring a proclamation ceremony at the Bermuda National Gallery at 12.30 today.

The event is in commemoration of the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The itinerary, said CURE executive officer David Northcott in a letter to businesses inviting them to attend the function, will include guest speakers, live entertainment, and a display of school art.

Also in commemoration of the day CURE sponsored the television premiere of Errol Williams' film "When Voices Rise", aired on ZBM TV 9 on March 18 and 19.

The film was shown with a panel discussion following each screening focusing on the past, present and future of reace relations in Bermuda.

Mr. Northcott asked those with any questions or those wanting further information to contact CURE on 296-0613, or on the web at www.cure.bm.
