LookTV, a channel showcasing Bermuda, will be on CableVision channel one by June 2005.

LookTV will be launched by Jean-Pierre Rouja of LookBermuda Destination Media Services within a month.

The channel aims at reaching 100 per cent of guest rooms around the island so that tourists can know as much about the island as possible.

LookTV will provide programming based on a visitor related calendar of events and places of interest.

It will also have historical and cultural information for visitors interested in the island.

Mr. Rouja, managing director of the company, said: ?The focus of the channel is to promote information about our island to visitors to enrich their experience.?

Tourism and Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown was at the press conference and said the new channel was an addition to his ministry?s pop and sizzle campaign.

?When a visitor can turn to a channel and see pictures of beautiful Bermuda it will assist them to get out of their rooms,? Dr. Brown said.

Dr. Brown looks forward to working with LookTV to promote Bermuda.

Many companies in the tourism sector have given Mr. Rouja positive feedback about the new channel.

He said companies that want to promote their service or event to tourists should contact his company.

Mr. Rouja is delighted his company is able to contribute to the tourism industry: ?We?re a Bermudian company and believe in tourism. We focus all of our energy on products that will assist tourists.?
