Fresh TV hit out at both of its rival television stations last night over the way they ran a story about the new production company's clash with the United Bermuda Party at a Press conference.

CEO of Fresh TV Elmore Warren said VSB had carried footage of the Press conference on Wednesday showing him at loggerheads with UBP press man and MP candidate Jamahl Simmons, but had failed to give the whole story.

He said what VSB had failed to say in the piece was that Royal Gazette reporter Ayo Johnson had asked the UBP whether it was biased against Fresh TV because the station had not been invited to press conferences and had been unable to secure interviews with candidates.

And while Mr. Johnson did not get an answer, both Mr. Simmons and Mr. Warren became entangled in a brief dispute on air. But yesterday Mr. Warren said: "We did not attack Jamahl Simmons on camera. We went to a Press conference to report on the Press conference. What ended up on the news on VSB was basically footage of the actual incident. That incident was instigated by a member of another media."

And Mr. Warren said ZBM had failed to contact him for comment after Mr. Simmons had been quoted on the incident at the press conference.

And at the press conference to put out the flames yesterday, Mr. Warren said: "We have resolved our issues to the extent that I spoke to the leader of the Opposition party.

"We have made it clear that we are in this business to offer an alternative to what people have been getting for more than 100 years."

But Mr. Warren said he wanted to put on the record that Fresh TV was not politically biased one way or another, and would always give every party in a story the opportunity to comment."
