VSB hopes to be back on the air
VSB TV-11 has halted its regular scheduling until Monday owing to severe storm damage to the Barker's Hill tower.
The antenna on the tower was badly damaged by Hurricane Fabian, preventing some areas of the Island from receiving a clear signal, said station manager Mike Bishop.
He added that it was especially difficult for the low lying areas in Bermuda to receive a signal.
Mr. Bishop said that the marginal number of locals affected would now be able to receive a signal when the installation of the new antenna was complete.
Also, Wednesday's early morning lightning storm damaged the tower and prevented VSB from producing any in-studio product until today, added Mr. Bishop.
Overseas installers were flown into the Island last Tuesday to install the new antenna because Mr. Bishop said were no locals that would climb the tower.
