Hardell takes legal action against Bermuda Hospitals Board
Local media company, Hardell Communications, has filed suit against the Bermuda Hospitals Board alleging breach of contract.
The company was due to launch its in-house television services next week, but the agreement is apparently on the rocks.
Company spokesperson Corey Butterfield could not elaborate when contacted yesterday.
But Hospitals Board CEO Stephanie Reid denied that there was a contract with Hardell.
"There is no contract at this point and time. We have been waiting for the TV service from Hardell for quite some time and we have not made any progress," she said.
"No, they never had a contract. The hospital has a responsibility to its patients and they have been enquiring about the TV service for quite some time now and therefore the hospital has to look at fulfilling its obligations."
Asked whether the Board will be putting the contract out to tender, she said that the Board was considering its options.
