Trial date is set for businessman
Herbert Alan Williams and his associate Richard Graham Thomas, who are accused of cultivating cannabis.
Williams, 42, has pleaded not guilty to the cultivation of cannabis, possession of a controlled drug, conspiring to cultivate cannabis and knowingly permitting the production of a controlled drug.
Thomas, 39, of White Sands Road, Paget, has denied cultivation of cannabis, conspiring to cultivate cannabis, possessing a controlled drug and possessing a controlled drug that was intended for supply.
Charges were laid against the pair after Police raided Williams' Harbour Road home in January, 1994. Both men, represented by lawyers Mr. Alan Dunch and Mr.
Mark Pettingill, had their bail extended.
Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward set sentencing of American Victoria Zambardi for 2.30 p.m. on April 13, with sentencing of Cassell Reid to follow.
Zambardi admitted importing cocaine to Bermuda on or about last December 29 and possession of cocaine intended for supply.
Reid admitted importing cocaine last November 30 and possession of the drug intended for supply between November 28 and December 3. Both were remanded in custody.
Also in arraignments, Terranz Deloyd Smith and Christina Patricia Smith pleaded not guilty to drug offences.
Terranz Smith, represented by Mr. Richard Hector, denied possession of cocaine in St. George's last June 10 intended for supply, supplying cocaine, possession of cocaine intended for supply last June 11, supplying the drug, possession of cannabis last June 11, handling cocaine, handling cannabis.
Christina Smith, represented by Mr. Archie Warner, denied handling heroin and cocaine intended for supply on June 10 in Pembroke.
A mention date was set for the next arraignment session on May 5. Both were bailed.
Not guilty pleas were entered for Anthony Webster Swan on two counts of stealing, one count of breaking and entering the Reefs Hotel and one count of attempted breaking and entering. Swan had refused to verbally plead, staring straight ahead with his hands on his hips while the charges were read out.
