The 18-year-old store has survived the fickle trends of fashion because it keeps abreast of local whims, said owners Mr. and Mrs. Kirk and Sharon Bartram.

The store has been located in Chancery Lane since it first opened. "It's boring there now. We needed a change,'' said Mr. Bartram.

He said he had persuaded a former store manager, Mr. Franklyn (Bucky) Greaves to return to the relocated store.

"Bucky was manager during our most successful period from 1980-1985,'' said Mr. Bartram. "We wanted to get the same people who made it such a success back again.'' Assistant manager and ladies clothing buyer Ms Laverne Zuill has been with Twenty-Seventh Century Boutique for 15 years.

The couple also own Hair Studio in Brunswick Mall.
