Machete attack: Five held

Five men, including two US nationals, were held in custody yesterday while Police investigate the attempted murder of a 30-year-old Hamilton Parish man.

Police said the man was chopped on the head with a machete Thursday April 29, after three men entered his home on North Shore Road, Hamilton parish at around 3.45 p.m. When Police arrived at the man?s home they found him with a severe cut on his forehead. But his attackers had fled the scene.

The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery as an artery in his head had been severed by the blow.

Yesterday , Police said the victim was resting comfortably in the hospital?s Perry Ward.

By Press time last night Police would not say whether any arrests had been made.

They also would not divulge the ages of the men helping them in the investigation and refused to say whether it was drug or gang related.
