A 14-year-old boy was fighting for his life after a serious road traffic collision last night.

The young boy, who has not been named, was said to be in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Bermuda Police Service spokesman Dwayne Caines said there were reports that the teenager had needed a blood transfusion.

Mr. Caines was able to say that the accident happened on Knapton Hill, Smith's Parish, but was unable to comment further on the incident.

After receiving calls reporting the accident, The Royal Gazette was able to reach the injured teenager's aunt, but she said she was in no position to speak about the incident.

At press time the paper was unable to get further information on the latest condition of the injured boy.
