A 24-year-old man who allegedly kidnapped a Smith's Parish woman and forced her to drive him home at knifepoint will appear in Magistrates' Court today.

The incident is alleged to have taken place early on Sunday morning when a man was reported to have kidnapped the 28-year-old woman following a struggle. The woman later escaped and called Police.

Police are interested in talking with two women who may have been witnesses to the incident. The two women, were travelling east on North Shore Road near the junction of Radnor Road in a silver car, when they stopped and left their vehicle to go over to a white Volkswagen Polo to speak with the occupant of that car.
