Auditions open next month for Miss Talented Teen

Bermuda?s most talented young ladies, aged 13 to 17, are invited to audition in January, 2006 to compete for the title, ?Miss Talented Teen Bermuda?, and the further opportunity to go on to compete in the Hal Jackson?s Talented Teens International Scholarship Competition on July 29 in New York.

Auditions will be held at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts on Monday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and interested participants must have passing grades and be in regular attendance at their respective schools. They will be asked to deliver a two-minute talent presentation, and prepare for a brief interview to be conducted at the same time.

The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Bermuda Chapter will present the Hal Jackson?s Talented Teens Bermuda Scholarship Competition on May 6, 2006 at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts.

Contestants will be graded on personality, performing talent, and appearance, and will have the chance to win a $2000 scholarship and other prizes, including the trip to compete in the International finals, which will include girls from all over the United States and several foreign countries.

The reigning Miss Talented Teen Bermuda, Miss Len? Hypolite, wowed both local and international audiences with her dramatic monologue in last year?s competitions. Previous winners and/or representatives for Bermuda include Police cadet and Bermuda College student, Teshae Trott, Bermuda Idol finalist Twanee Butterfield, and Bermuda College student, Danielle Greaves.
