The man found dead in a derelict Paget house on Wednesday morning has been identified as 47-year old Cornel Jones.

And Police still have not ruled out foul play in the man's death. Forensic pathologist Dr. Valerie Rao arrives on the Island from the United States tomorrow to conduct an autopsy.

“We anticipate that, following the conducting of an autopsy, she will provide us with significant information that will assist us in the direction of the investigation,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Carlton Adams said yesterday.

The house on Valley Road, Paget where Mr. Jones' body was discovered is believed to be owned by his family, Mr. Adams said. Mr. Jones' body was discovered by a friend, a taxi driver who went searching for him on Wednesday. It has not been disclosed why he was searching for Mr. Jones.

Mr. Adams described Mr. Jones as “friendly enough”, saying he was often seen along Valley Road and was at one time employed at the gas station on Middle Road, Paget.

Police are not aware if he was employed at the time of his death. The last time Mr. Jones was seen alive is also still unknown.
