It's hot, sticky and humid.

A perfect summer day some might say.

But it wasn't perfect because two young men were shot – one dead.

The scene was St. Monica's Road, often called 42nd Street by the people who live there.

Cars drove by with drivers and passengers straining their necks to get a look at what was happening.

Police guarded the entrance of a road where shootings have happened in the past, stopping people from going in.

More officers in bullet proof vests — mostly women — combed the area looking for casings, bullets and any other evidence as uniformed officers holding massive guns stood nearby.

Shots were fired late yesterday afternoon sending two men to hospital wounded.

Another two men were arrested by Police and remained in Police custody at press time.

News of the death came last night.

On the North Shore side of St. Monica's, a Police car sat at the entrance with three uniformed officers talking among themselves and listening to their radios.

The didn't seem to know much about what was going on but knew one thing for sure — no one was going to get past them.

Every couple of minutes, someone came over trying to get through the road claiming to live there but were denied access.

Men on bikes circled the area a few times looking at Police while talking on their cell phones.

A few people stood outside watching and one man started shouting and cursing.

Another day of violence in paradise.
