The 19-year-old Royal Navy sailor was arrested by Police at 3.20 a.m. after he used the doors of a Front Street store as a toilet.

The man let loose at the Rosebank Arcade on Front Street where a number of tourists were waiting for taxis. The tourists were forced to cast off in order to avoid getting their feet wet.

The sailor was taken to the Hamilton Police Station where he was held for the remainder of the night. He was formally cautioned this morning and placed in the care of a security detail from his ship, HMS Marlborough , which is presently berthed in Hamilton.

"We are very disappointed with the sailor,'' a Navy spokesman said yesterday.

"He is in a lot of trouble and will be dealt with when we return to England.'' TEEN TOURIST TARGETED BY THIEVES CRM Teen tourist targeted by thieves A 16-year-old American tourist fell victim to another handbag snatching on Tuesday morning.
