'Art in 21st Century' is the title of today's lunchtime lecture at the Bermuda National Gallery (BNG). Presented by Steve Martin, it examines four artists who deal with the notion of identity ? sculptor Bruce Nauman; painter Kerry James Marshall; Vietnam Memorial creator Maya Lin; and sculptor Louise Bourgeois ? the 60-minute PBS presentation begins at 12.30 p.m. and admission is free.

Rather than fight the evening rush hour tomorrow night, the Bermuda National Gallery offers the alternative of wine, hors d'oeuvres and the summer sounds of Randy Lambert's Tempo group. The action is from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m., tickets (members $10, others $20) are available at the Gallery, and a cash bar will be available.

After all the weekend partying is over relax on Sunday with local jazz musicians at Twilight in Paradise, which is being held at The Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts Concert.
