Gilbert Institute students Raven and Dacotah Baksh are donating their hair to a charity that makes wigs for cancer sufferers.

Their grandmother, Sonja Winchell told the girls about a television programme she had seen which featured the organisation and they decided to get their hair cut.

Raven, nine, said: “I would like to do it so that someone who does not have hair can have some. It would be nice if other girls wanted to do it as well.”

Dacotah, eight, said: “I would like to make other kids happy. I will be glad to be rid of my hair for the summer, because it is hot on my neck.”

Their father Ronnie Baksh said: “Raven was the first one to say she would do it and a few days later Dacotah decided to do it as well.

“They will have a really short hair cut.
