Man admitted receiving stolen cycle
A 20-year old Devonshire man was remanded into custody after he admitted to receiving a stolen cycle.
Trenton Brangman of Friswells Road, pleaded guilty yesterday in Magistrates' Court to taking a livery cycle for his own use in Sandys.
The court heard from Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney that the red cycle was being rented by visitors to the Island and was removed from the parking lot of Salt Rock Grill.
Brangman was seen riding on the cycle but was arrested for another matter. He was taken to the Police Station where he admitted his part in the offence.
The defendant was due to appear in court with his co-accused, but claimed he had the flu and his aunt was supposed to call for him. However, he said he failed to double check whether or not the aunt actually called the court.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered a Social Inquiry Report and remanded the defendant into custody until November 20.
