Bermuda stocks gain ground

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index last week gained 10.66 points to close at 3,112.37.During the week, Butterfield Bank was to see the highest volume of trading with investors pushing 4,373 shares through the exchange and pushing down the share price 15 cents to $42.75.

During the week, Butterfield Bank was to see the highest volume of trading with investors pushing 4,373 shares through the exchange and pushing down the share price 15 cents to $42.75.

The only other sector to see activity during the week were the Island's two-listed domestic insurers, BF&M and Argus.

Argus investors bought and sold 142 shares while the share price gained 45 cents to finish the week at $26.45.

And BF&M saw 200 of its shares change hands. Those shares also gained 95 cents to close on Friday at $13.95.
