The culprits forced entry into the house on Thursday and removed an undisclosed quantity of jewellery from a bedroom dresser.

Two 14-carat gold rings were taken along with a 14-carat gold bracelet.

Also early on Friday morning, a female visitor at a West End cottage colony reported her handbag and its contents were removed from a chair in an upstairs bedroom of the cottage.

The bag contained several credit cards, airline tickets, jewellery, sunglasses and a wallet.
