Dolphin plans
No to dolphins
March 19, 2005
Dear Sir,
I would like to make a point regarding the March 10 letter by Animal Doctor about the Minister of Tourism's effort to enhance the industry through a captive dolphins exhibit: In July, my husband and I will make our ninth consecutive trip to Bermuda.
In the past years we have enjoyed many of the wonderful attractions Bermuda has to offer. We have visited the Perfume Factory, Dockyard, Bailey's ice cream, the wonderful beaches, historical St George's, Paget Marsh, the Bermuda Art Collection, and our favourite, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse.
Never have we visited, nor would we want to visit, an attraction featuring captive marine mammals in an unnatural setting.

Don't lose the magic
March 21, 2005
This was sent to Environment Minister Neletha Butterfield and copied to The Royal Gazette.
Dear Ms Butterfield,
As a Heather Nova fan, I am extremely glad Heather was among the demonstrators who marched down to the Cabinet Building against the dredging of Sinky Bay.
Through her songs, audiences have been able to perceive the beauty, magic and wonder of Bermudian environment, as she is one of the best ambassadors of your country worldwide. It would be a shame not to consider the negative backlash of your actions on the world stage.
