Government has said it tried to help Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) get a new office before its lease ran out but was unable to contact the charity.

KBB was forced to leave its offices in Church Street and Parliament Street after the lease expired.

But on Friday, Acting Works and Engineering Minister Neletha Butterfield said Government was unable to contact KBB head Lennox Boodrum despite making several attempts.

"While we regret that the charity is facing challenging times, I can say that the Ministry of Works and Engineering made several attempts to contact Mr. Boodrum regarding the charity's impending re-location - however the attempts were unsuccessful," said Ms Butterfield.

"In addition to trying to contact the KBB office, an email has been forwarded to their administrative office noting the willingness of the of the Ministry's estates section to assist in the relocation of KBB, and we wait to hear from Mr. Boodrum and the administrative office.

"Unfortunately, we do not have any government facilities to vacate to assist KBB."The Royal Gazette was unable to contact Mr. Boodrum for comment.
