St. David's steamrolled to victory over hapless visitors BAA at Lords, scoring six goals in each half of this clash.
Hoping to revive their fortunes after being demoted from Premier Division play last season, the eastenders' goal-spree was spearheaded by Aaron Crockwell and Angelo Cannonier with a hat-trick apiece. Crockwell's goals came after 11, 46 and 47 minutes while Cannonier found the net after 13, 28 and 33 minutes.
Also among the goals for the home side were O.J.Minors (49 and 75 minutes), Corey Garcia (19 and 77 minutes), Dejaun Paynater (54 minutes) and Daniel Baker (65 minutes).
One of the busiest players on the field was BAA goalkeeper John Doran who made a few good saves, despite allowing a dozen to pass him. BAA also got good performances out of centre-back Gary Adams and attacker Johsha Scott, who was always involved whenever BAA managed to stage an isolated attack.
Somerset Eagles 0
Southampton Rangers 2
At White Hill, player-coach Kenny Thompson showed his versatility by turning in an outstanding performance during his stand-in stint in goal for Eagles - playing between the sticks after his regular 'keeper was unavailable through travel abroad.
Thompson pulled off a few good saves, however his heroics weren't sufficient to prevent the visitors from taking the upperhand with Travis (Red) Wilkinson finding the net twice.
He first struck after 12 minutes and then got the second seven minutes before the interval to give Rangers a comfortable lead at the half.
Rangers were reduced to 10 men after 70 minutes when referee Daniel Tucker sent off Jahmah Charles for foul language, but they were still able to prevent Eagles from taking any sort of initiative.
Social Club 1
X Roads 3
All home side Social Club could muster from this contest at Bernard Park was a consolation goal in the second half after their opponents had scored three times.
X Roads virtually put the result out of reach early by scoring all goals by the interval, the tallies coming from Dennis Musson, Hisham Boukhloufi and Nashon Smith.
St. George's 0
Hamilton Parish 0
A closely contested match at Wellington Oval saw these two teams walk away with a deserved share of the points - Parish having had a player ejected eight minutes from the end but still remained composed enough with a man short to prevent the home team from gaining any advantage.
