A fleet of six NATO warships will call at Bermuda this weekend enroute to operations in European waters.

Fresh from drugs operations in the Caribbean and participation in New Orleans' Mardi Gras, the five frigates and one destroyer will arrive on Friday morning.

The contingent includes the USS Moosbrugger , German Neidersachsen , Canadian Fredericton , Dutch Bloys Van Treslong , British Campeltown and Spanish Reina Sofia .

Two of the vessels will berth in Dockyard and the remainder in Hamilton, before their departure on Monday.

They are due to take part in a major NATO exercise in Portugal later in the month.

Meanwhile, Meyer reported the second cruise visitor of the season at Hamilton on Monday. The Seabourn Pride came from Florida and sailed the same day for the Azores.

The Somers Isle arrived on Monday with 107 containers, including 11 refrigerated. It also carried five pleasure boats, three garbage trucks, a dump truck and 60 bundles of building materials. It is due to sail tomorrow.

And the Bermuda Islander brought in 114 containers, including 18 refrigerated and four horses. It is due to depart on Friday.

John S. Darrell reported the oil tanker Tomsk at the oil docks at St. George's last Thursday, before it moved to Dockyard.

Container Ship Management had the Oleander in on Sunday, sailing yesterday. It brought 35 refrigerated containers, 194 dry, 24 cars and four road trailers with steel and wood on board.
