Concern was raised for two fishermen yesterday after they went out in their boat and failed to return during the mid-morning storm.

Both Harbour Radio and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries conducted a planned search of the area between Flatt's and Kitchen Shoals Beacon from 2 p.m.

The vessel was eventually located off the North Shore coast, near Cable and Wireless, and the two men on board were found to be safe.

They had tried to contact Harbour Radio to inform them they were safe, but their radio was not working. They continued to fish and returned home once the weather had improved.
