Marine Police came to the aid of an elderly woman yesterday after she experienced difficulty breathing on a ferry.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said the passenger on board the Tempest when she became short of breath at about 1.30 p.m.

The ferry was rushed to Albouys Point where Marine Police gave her assistance until an ambulance came and took her to hospital.

Police could not be reached for comment on the incident.

Firefighters extinguished a brush fire at Pembroke Dump yesterday afternoon.

Two appliances, a water tanker and four firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 3.39 p.m., a Fire Service spokesman said.

The fire, in a 20 foot by 30 foot area, was out out by 4.50 p.m.
