Paget woman believes dog waste was thrown on roof
A Paget woman who discovered dog faeces on the roof of her low lying home is warning other residents to check what might be polluting their water supply.
She believes that the dog dirt was thrown from an overlooking vantage point onto the top of her home in Valley Road, most likely through an act of ?stupidity? during the festive season.
It was only when her son went onto the roof to take down Christmas lights that the mess was discovered.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said: ?I stay down in a valley. Unaware to me, someone above me was dumping dog faeces on my roof.
?I called the health department and when they arrived they suggested I put three cups of Clorox in my tank, guessing how much water was there by looking in.
?Clorox is chlorine, which the latest studies now show cause arterial sclerosis. Due to the fact that I have a pre-existing heart condition this could cause me even greater problems.?
The roof of the property and the guttering have now been cleaned, but the family are not drinking the tank water for the time being.
And the woman added: ?People should check their roofs. You never know what is being put up there by people.
?If people are becoming sick and they don?t know why, I suggest they should check out what is on their roof to ensure that what you are drinking is healthy water and not contaminated.?
