Runner hurt in accident

International Race Weekend came to an unfortunate end for one competitor yesterday morning.Julie Perron, who was participating in the Half Marathon, was apparently knocked down from behind by a vehicle and injured as she ran along North Shore Road (between Government Gate and Blackwatch Pass) shortly before 10 a.m.

Julie Perron, who was participating in the Half Marathon, was apparently knocked down from behind by a vehicle and injured as she ran along North Shore Road (between Government Gate and Blackwatch Pass) shortly before 10 a.m.
The 30-year-old suffered cuts to her forehead and left hand as well as scratches on her left shoulder. She received stitches for the injury to her forehead at the hospital where she was treated and discharged.
A 60-year-old Paget man was driving the vehicle involved in the accident.
