VOLLEYBALL VOL Registration has started for the Bermuda Volleyball Association's Four-A-Side Coed League.

An entry fee of $100 per team of four to six players or $150 for teams having more than six players is being charged, with a deadline of June 28 for receipt of entries.

The league will commence on Tuesday, July 5 at Elbow Beach. Teams must have at least two women and two men on the court at all times during matches.

ATHLETICS ATH Fourteen-year-old Ronan Kane, who set junior records in the high jump and javelin at Saltus last year, has continued his athletic success overseas.

In his first year at Blackrock College in Ireland, Kane claimed first place in both disciplines recently during the East Leinster Championships.

He thus qualified for the Irish Championships where he continued his fine form, claiming second place in both events.

As a result of his efforts Kane was awarded the Gold Medal for Athletic Achievement by Blackrock.
